Features

Read & Search

Browse your inbox, search by sender, subject, or content, and read full email threads.

Draft Emails

Sift drafts emails for you based on context—reply to a thread, compose something new, or rework an existing draft.

Send Emails

Review a draft and send it, or compose and send in one step.

Email Intelligence

Sift classifies incoming emails by importance, category, and action needed—so you know what matters.

Email Intelligence

When you connect email, Sift automatically classifies your messages:
  • Importance — Critical, notable, routine, or noise
  • Categories — Academic, financial, career, travel, security, social, and more
  • Signals — Deadline emails, booking confirmations, grade notifications, security alerts
This powers features like:
  • Smart email alerts via automations (Premium)
  • Contextual awareness—Sift knows about your travel plans, course updates, and important threads
  • Contact resolution—when you say “email Dr. Smith,” Sift knows who that is

CC Sift on Emails

CC sift@usesift.app on any email thread and Sift will read the conversation, figure out what’s needed, and text you via iMessage before taking action. Sift never sends anything without your approval.

Schedule Meetings

CC Sift on a scheduling thread. Sift checks your calendar, drafts a reply with 2-3 available times, and includes a Google Meet link once confirmed.

Extract Deadlines

CC Sift on an email with deadlines or action items. Sift pulls them out, texts you a summary, and can add them to your tasks.

How it works

  1. CC or forward an email to sift@usesift.app
  2. Sift reads the thread and classifies the intent (scheduling, deadlines, or general context)
  3. Sift texts you via iMessage with a summary and proposed action
  4. Reply to approve — “send”, “yes”, or pick a specific option
  5. Sift executes the action (sends the email, creates the event, saves the deadlines)
For scheduling emails, Sift also monitors the thread for replies. When someone confirms a time, Sift automatically creates a calendar event with a Google Meet link and lets you know.
CC-to-action is a Premium feature and requires iMessage to be set up for confirmations.

Examples

“Show me emails from my advisor this week”
Finds matching emails and shows subjects, senders, and dates. You can ask to read any specific one.
“Draft a reply to Dr. Smith’s last email asking for a deadline extension on my research paper”
Sift composes a draft with appropriate tone and context. You review and approve before it sends.
“Email my study group that I’ll be 15 minutes late to tomorrow’s meeting”
Sift resolves the recipients, drafts the message, and sends it after your confirmation.
“Alert me via iMessage when my professor emails me”
Sets up an automation that monitors your inbox and sends you an iMessage when a matching email arrives.
CC sift@usesift.app on an email thread with your professor about office hours
Sift reads the thread, checks your calendar, and texts you: “I drafted a reply suggesting Thursday 2-3pm, Friday 10-11am, or Monday 1pm. Reply ‘send’ to send it.” Once the professor picks a time, Sift creates the event with a Google Meet link.

Privacy & Security

  • OAuth 2.0 — Sift never sees your Google password
  • Read and compose only — Sift can read and send emails but doesn’t modify or delete existing ones
  • No bulk access — Sift only accesses emails relevant to your queries
  • Disconnect anytime from Settings
Email reading and sending is available on all plans. Email-triggered automations require Premium.

Tips

  • Sift knows your contacts — Say “email Dr. Smith” instead of typing out the full address
  • Review drafts before sending — Sift always asks for confirmation before sending
  • Use automations for alerts — Instead of checking email constantly, set up triggers for important senders (Premium)
  • Search is powerful — Filter by sender, label, date range, or keywords
