Connecting Google Calendar

Go to Settings

Open Settings > Integrations > Google Calendar

Click Connect

Click “Connect Google Account”

Sign in

Sign in with your Google account

Grant permission

Allow Sift to access your calendar
You can connect multiple Google accounts if needed.

What Gets Synced

  • Events — Meetings, appointments, all-day events
  • Busy time — Sift sees when you’re unavailable
  • Multiple calendars — Personal, work, shared calendars

Free vs Premium

  • Sift can see your events
  • Updates sync periodically (not real-time)
  • Scheduling considers your existing events
  • Cannot create or modify events through Sift

Privacy

  • Sift only accesses calendar data, not other Google services
  • Event details are used for scheduling, not stored long-term
  • You can disconnect anytime from Settings
  • OAuth 2.0 ensures your password is never stored

Tips

  • Connect before asking Sift to schedule tasks
  • Check which calendars are synced in settings
  • Use “am I free at…” for quick availability checks
  • Timeblocks created by scheduling appear as calendar events (Premium)
